Pam has been a Shaklee Ambassador for decades. She left corporate America to be a stay-at-home mom and found a community that lifts each other up while sharing health and wellness with others. Pam shares how she used her experiences with Shaklee products to help other moms, and she shares what it takes to be in the business of bringing true wellness to the world. Pam’s Story
My name is Pam Cary and I have been a Shaklee Ambassador for 24 years.
I was a buyer for a food store chain and I had a job that I loved. I worked 70 hours a week; I was very well paid. And about eight years into my career in corporate America I started to have some children. So I…had a couple of kids and a 70-hour week job and that really wasn’t working for me anymore. I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom.
As a stay-at-home mom, I met people at the park, at library story hours, at music classes, and things that we were doing. And we help each other—we moms. We help each other out. When we find something that works, we help each other. And so we started to do that. And [other moms] would ask me what I would do, and I would start to advise them a little bit.
I was a buyer in corporate America; I’ve heard from a lot of salesmen, and I didn’t want to be that. So I shied away a little bit, but I leaned into the idea of helping other women. Their kids had needs and those moms had needs too. So I started to share a little bit, and…one thing led to another.
When we find the good deals on good clothing or cute jewelry or cool shoes, we want to share that with the people we care most about. So you don’t need to have a certain degree, certain amount of skills, certification, or letters after your name—you don’t have to have all that. You need to have a passion for other people and a passion for helping others.
