We caught up with Lauren Breeden and Katie Odom to chat with them about our Get Clean® line and what it means to green clean.
Q: What got you started with Get Clean? Why do you love it?
Lauren Breeden: I am a mom of three with a little baby, and I love Get Clean products because I love knowing what I’m using around my children is safe and that it actually works. A little over six years ago, when I was pregnant with my first, I was learning a lot about toxins and how I could improve my health and the health of my family. I was cleaning my home with vinegar and baking soda in an effort to reduce some of those toxins. So, when I was introduced to Shaklee when my first was about nine months old, I started using the Get Clean products. And I loved that we were using something so safe, something that actually worked and didn’t have a smell like vinegar and saved our family money.
Katie Odoms: Before we moved into our new home, we wanted to ensure that we deep cleaned it. It was such an easy adjustment for our family to bring in our Get Clean kit and have all of the products that we had been using previously and be able to use them now in our new home. We used Basic H2® to thoroughly clean the windows, sink, and countertops. We knew we were creating an environment that would be a safe one and nontoxic for our family.
Q: The Get Clean Starter Kit has some amazing products. Which ones do you use most often and recommend to your friends?
Lauren Breeden: If I had to pick two products that I think are so important for young families, I would first pick the Fresh Laundry Concentrate. I have to ensure that the product I use to clean my babies’ clothes and their bedding is safe. And it also smells really good, plus it works super well with stains and just getting everything really clean. And the second one is Basic H2®. I spray down my daughter’s high chair, my kids’ toys…and then my older ones can even help me clean with it, and I don’t have to worry about them being exposed to anything harmful.
Katie Odom: One that we always love using is the Hand Wash Concentrate, which is really nice because we’re always washing our hands and trying to stay clean. And I love that it’s so gentle and easy on your hands—and it doesn’t dry them out.
And in our kitchen, we loved being able to wash our dishes, our utensils, and our cups with the dishwasher detergent and also the dish soap. And our Scour Off™ came in handy a lot throughout our home as we tried to remove different spots and stains and marks and things, everything from crayon scribbles and drawings to tough oven stains. Really, there wasn’t much that the Scour Off couldn’t tackle.
And the great thing, too, as we moved into our new home was that we knew we would be saving money with the Get Clean line because all the products are so concentrated and they last so long. And I loved knowing that we were going to create an environment that was completely safe and nontoxic. There are a lot of things we can’t control in our environment, but choosing the right cleaners is one easy thing we can do to keep a home that is safe and clean for my family.
