Dana’s Story
My name is Dana Degan and I’m from Charlotte, North Carolina. And I have been a Shaklee Ambassador for just about seven years now.
So actually, as a kid my grandparents sold Shaklee. We used some of the products then but kind of got away from it as I got older. And then I went to school to be a dietician.
When I talk to clients, a lot of times they want to make all the changes at once, and that’s not sustainable or realistic. Consistency…consistency is huge, I talk to my kids about this all the time. [It] is being consistent in what you’re doing with your health. Like you don’t just do it sometimes; we make good decisions every single day. Is it taking your vitamins? Is it drinking enough water? Is it moving your body? Any of that stuff. It’s just important to me. And It’s important that my children as they’re growing up…see me doing it. But then I also expect it of them so that when they’re out of the house—I’m hoping—that they’ll continue with those same values.
It’s just important to have that consistency and that people understand that you can’t just do it once and then come back and expect everything to change. And there’s just…little things you can do every single day that are small habits. And small habits [eventually] lead to big changes….So I think just tackling small things [is important]. It doesn’t necessarily have to be about health…in general it’s just about life and what kind of a life do you want, and thinking about those changes.
