But during the challenge, your nutrition routine and diet can change drastically! So how does this affect your existing workout routine? Here are some tips on how to work out and stay active during the various stages of the Prove It Challenge!
Days 1–7: Keep exercise light
The first seven days of the Prove It Challenge are the 7-Day Healthy Cleanse, which means your diet will be limited to mostly vegetables and fruits – to cleanse the digestive system of unhealthy options as well as eliminating protein and grains which are slower to digest. This is a time to rest and reset your digestive system and palette and during this time, you’ll be consuming fewer calorie so it’s best that you stay away from high-intensity workouts and heavy weight training. Instead, try some lower-intensity exercises like stretching, walking, yoga or swimming.
If you have a physically demanding job or just can’t take a break from rigorous exercise, you may want to add a protein option like a scoop of Life Shake™ to your veggie/fruit smoothie, or a hard-boiled egg, or a 4-oz. piece of baked chicken. But overall, during the cleanse you’ll have fewer nutrients so be careful not to overdo it! You might need to shorten your exercise time or take more breaks in between exercise periods.
Days 8–30: Reintroduce your regular exercise
After you complete the cleanse, you’ll continue your clean eating referring back to the recipes and healthy habits developed during the cleanse but you’ll also be gradually adding in lean protein, whole grains and healthy fats so you can ease back into your regular exercise routine. For the remaining days of the challenge, you commit to a daily nutrition routine of replacing one meal with Life Shake and taking a Vitalizer™ strip.
